Katmai,
Alaska.
We
spent unforgettable days in a breathtaking and pristine natural setting,
listening to ocean waves, wind, bald eagles and growling brown bears.
It's
a magic place where you learn to talk to these huge predators ....

Lazio,
Italy.
After
a cold and humid night, each tiny detail on the frozen ground is covered
with crystals with
mesmerizing reflections.
As usual, it's a matter of camera angle and comfortable working
position....

Pantanal,
Brasil.
Deeply
concentrated while photographing
abstract reflections of the caiman's silhouettes in the water, I
didn't notice that the big lizard was getting closer and closer....

...in
these cases
having somebody, which is looking your back is crucial. I was warned in
time, in order to get a healthy distance from the sharp caiman teeth.
Too
bad they forgot to tell me to take my shoes with me...

Pantanal,
Brasil.
On
a wooden 30 mt. high tower over the jungle to photograph
howler monkeys.
|
| At the end of a wonderful trip
in one of the most amazing regions of the world, very happy about my
photographic results, I was sad to say bye bye to a "good
friend" met in the Pantanal. |

When I originally planned to
take pictures of nesting Woodpeckers (Northern Flicker) I wouldn't
have thought that wading in deep water would have been necessary. Go
to the July 2003 Pic-of the-month to read the
story behind that action.

Unexpected weather for April 10th!!
Photographing breeding Canada Geese.
In such situations it's very important to have a spare battery module
under the jacket as the cold air and the Image Stabilizer considerably
shorten the battery lifetime.

In the Seal colony in Cape Cross, Namibia
- October 2000.
In the background you may notice the
wall separating the actual colony (which is behind that wall) from the public area...
Well,
some seals came over near the parking lot through a broken section of that wall!
(The life in the colony is too loud?)
